The even better news is that on nearly every TV that has this feature, you can turn it off. Do your family and friends a favor and turn theirs off too. Many people (including me) don't like it, but many also don't realize it's something you can disable. Here's what the soap opera effect is, and how you can banish it from your TV forever.
New Tips for Handheld CSS from Opera
However, with 24fps content -- namely Hollywood movies and most TV shows like sitcoms and dramas that aren't reality TV or soap operas -- there's a problem. The cadence of film, and the associated blurring of the slower frame rate's image, is linked to the perception of fiction. Check out the scathing reviews of the high-frame-rate version of 2012's The Hobbit for proof of that. Even if this perception seems grandiose, the look of 24fps is expected with movies and fiction TV shows. Even though the TV and movie industries have long since moved away from shooting on actual film, the new digital cameras are set for 24fps because the audience for fictional programming expects that look.
Applies a style only if an entire query matches. It is useful for preventing older browsers from applying selected styles. When not using only, older browsers would interpret the query screen and (max-width: 500px) as screen, ignoring the remainder of the query, and applying its styles on all screens. If you use the only operator, you must also specify a media type.
Commas are used to combine multiple media queries into a single rule. Each query in a comma-separated list is treated separately from the others Thus, if any of the queries in a list is true, the entire media statement returns true. In other words, lists behave like a logical or operator.

I think that designing for the mobile web requires more than a quick fix for handheld owners. As web designers/developers, we need to recognise that people using handheld devices have different needs, capabilities and priorities from those sitting behind a desktop with a broadband connection. Cameron Moll explores these themes in his three part series, here.
> Did you think that someday Steve Jobs will write a letter to iPhone> Clients with the issue: "Why iPhone changed from screen to handheld> CSS support."?The iPhone Is running a regular version of Safari and, as far as it isconcerned, has no size inferiority complexes. In otherwords, when using an iPhone, you see the full size page just asyou would on any desktop computer. You then zoom around it to read partsof it. In that sense, it's rather accessible, as you can zoom the entirepage up as large as you need to.So, I agree with Joe Clark in a way. That said, we have a similarproblem where sites are now building iPhone-only pages on their siteswhich just seems to be compounding the issue...which makes me thinkthat, yes, indeed, the iPhone SHOULD support handheld CSS. I suppose theissue, though, is that one would want different CSS for other handheldsvs. the iPhone, which has a rather unique UI interface. Ugh...I justargued a point in a complete circle there, I think...-Darrel
Opera has released a web browser for Nintendo's DS and DS Lite handheld games units. There is a more slimline version for the DS Lite, which won't work on the old-style DS although you can use the old-style version on either DS model.I created a site for the browser (no longer online), including some Javascript games. In this article, I'll share what I've learned about the browser from a webdesign perspective.
Boating is an equipment-intensive activity. USCG-required gear includes life jackets, fire extinguishers, visual distress signals, sound producing devices, pollution placards and other gear. In addition to safety equipment, if you operate your boat at night, it will also need a set of navigation lights. See Navigation Light Rules. Although not required by the USCG, your boat should also have a VHF radio, which along with life jackets is a key piece of safety equipment to have onboard. There are a wide variety of handheld and fixed-mount VHF radios from which to choose. See Making a Mayday Call on Your VHF Radio. For an overview of all USCG-required gear, see U.S. Coast Guard Required Equipment for Recreational Vessels.
If the budget of the project is large, you can provide your testing team few handheld devices of the different operating systems so that real time testing is possible. Since certain bugs are often missed by emulators.
The CMIT 5 additionally has a much stronger directionality than one may anticipate from a microphone of its length. If required, the CMIT 5 may also be used for music recordings, for example, opera recordings. The similar MiniCMIT presents the options of a CMIT 5 in a compact design and is very beneficial to be used with digital wireless transmitters. 2ff7e9595c
